This is a social ride from the Ashby BART station at 10:30 am to the scenic Bay Bridge Bike Trail and Treasure Island. On the return we will stop for lunch at the Public Market in Emeryville. To get to Ashby, take BART from the Fremont station, 2000 Bart Way, Fremont (parking difficult at Warm Springs station). Arrive no later than 9:10 to allow time to park and pay for your parking at a vending machine. There will be plenty of parking in the BART lot on the east side of the station. Take the 9:33 Richmond train, arriving at the Ashby station at 10:18. If you wish to drive instead of using BART, go to Emeryville and meet us enroute on Shellmound across the street from IKEA as we enter the well marked bike trail there. Pat Grilione's traditional route follows quiet residential streets and country roads, passing through the historic town of New Almaden. The "Crankin with a Twist" ride will join us for coffee and socializing near the end of the ride. Rolling at 11:30, and back to my work cubicle by 2:00. We'll meet at the fountains in the middle of the loop, in front of 1650 and 1700 Technology Drive (Public parking in the garage; restroom available on request or at the Alviso Marina.), and head up the trail to Alviso. After a loop on hardpack dirt (my 23mm tires do fine), we'll stop for 20 minutes at the El Taco de Oro truck (CASH ONLY, 5210 N 1st St, in front of Mi Jalisco Market).
