*** IMPROMPTU RIDE FOR STATS CREDIT *** Start and finish this woodsy ride at Lexington School, above the reservoir. Lunch in Felton. These are some interesting goats. OSCH is what the name implies; it is the old wiggly route to Santa Cruz. Redwood Estates brings a crazy meander on some crazy steep roads laid out eons ago. Zayante is a long climb through the woods. And the Loch Lomand goat begins along the beautiful Lompico River. A turn brings some serious climbing in a residential area of mixed quality. We see only the entrance gate to the Loch Lomond reservoir: never see Loch Lomond. Drive to start from Los Gatos, take US 17 south; exit at Bear Creek Rd overpass; right on Bear Creek, cross over the freeway; right on Old Santa Cruz Hwy; right on Lexington School Rd; park in a space on the immediate left. If no spaces are available, go back on OSCH and park in the big lot opposite Hw 17.
