Ride Start: Fowler Creek Park along Altia Ave. Start Location We will continue our aggressive DRT training series on alternating weekends for the 2026 season. I like this route as I can pack in a lot of climbing with the limited daylight. I will post a cancellation on the Rides Bulletin if it rains, and may cancel. But the weather looks fine so far. Ride at your own pace. Jennifer will lead the faster cyclists, and Melanie will lead the slower cyclists. I will resume my usual "OFKRB" rides on alternating non-DRT weekend days. 10-01-2026 07:30:00 10-01-2026 09:30:00 6 ACTC: Short DRT Training 71 mi, 6 LM , 11,500 ft: Ride Start: Fowler Creek Park along Altia Ave. Start Location We will continue our aggressive DRT training series on alternating weekends for the 2026 season. Alviso Slough Trail
Meet in the west church parking lot, corner of E. Hamilton Ave on Leigh Ave, San Jose. We will ride up the San Tomas Aquino Creek trail, do a loop on the levees and return via the Gaudalupe River Trail. About 9 miles of this ride are on hard-packed dirt but easily ridden on standard road bikes. The first mile of that section is usually the worst, so an early turnaround is an option if it's too rough or muddy. Shorebird sightings and salt pond views are typically impressive. Regroups as necessary and as always, no one left behind. Optional food and drink at the Pruneyard less than a mile from the start. 13-01-2026 10:00:00 13-01-2026 12:00:00 6 ACTC: Mixed Terrain - Alviso Levees 36 mi, 1 LM , 363 ft: Meet in the west church parking lot, corner of E. Let's climb Mission Peak and Monument Peak. We start at Mission Blvd. and Pine St. in front of Ohlone College and ride up to the two peaks. Based on group preference, we could also optionally ride the Panorama Trail on the return. There are lots of 'backroads' routes through the Saratoga area. Here's one that may well use roads you've never taken. This is a scenic tour staying off the roads more often travelled. There is climbing, but nothing severe. There is a bit of dirt, but ridable on skinny road wheels. And there is lots of gorgeous scenery.
Join William Mueller (contact info below) at the Campbell Community Center for a 9:45 am sign in, 10:00 departure. Meet behind the skateboard park.

Starting at the Congregational Church (Leigh and Hamilton, west parking lot on Leigh), we will venture west to Rancho San Antonio (RSA) Park, wind our way thru Los Altos Hills and take a shortcut ("Dirty Moody", <1 mile of easy dirt trail suitable for all bikes makes this mixed terrain) up to PA Foothills Park for great views to the north and east. We'll return via Foothill Expwy and Prospect. Although classified a grizzly, THIS IS NOT A FLAT RIDE (2074 ft of climbing). The climb out of RSA is steep but short but the views are worth it. I called him "the goat king" as he used to lead rides incorporating all the local goats every calendar year. He also led many out-of-area goat rides. We will have a Pot Luck afterwards. We will first all cycle to Jerome's house to pay our respects before continuing the ride. After that, go at your own pace and feel free to skip goats as needed.
