Rancho San Vicente
Starting at Almaden Lake Park by, we ride streets to enter Calero Park from the Almaden Road side, make the loop and exit to McKean Road to return. This trip, we will add Oak Cove trail out and back (optional), gently rolling single-track, much of it following the reservoir. About half of this ride is dirt: incl. not very technical single-track, but does req. (and develop) skills beyond the typical road ride. The terrain is suitable for gravel or mountain bikes with tires of 35 mm or more. Most climbs are only 6-7% with some very short steeper pitches. Water and toilets are not available until the Calero parking lot, mile 24. [Route/Map] . To avoid the pavement, you can join us in the park at 10:15 (we won't leave before then) at the point marked TH in the RwGPS route. As are all my rides, no one left behind.

Once again I'll be camping at Seacliff, and this is still the obvious ride. We'll start with Aptos to Corralitos, climb Hazel Dell on the way to Gizdich Ranch, and make our way along the coast back to Aptos. Opportunities for food at the Corralitos market, Marianne's ice cream, and post-ride relaxation at Aptos Street BBQ. It's got all the ingredients for a perfect day, including forecast 87 F in San Jose, and 70 in Aptos. If you were with us in December, you'll be glad to know that the long, straight, bumpy parts have been traded for more curves and hills.

Meet behind Epicenter Cycling -- park on Aptos Village Way or Aptos Creek Dr.

The route is modified from SCCCC, and may be tweaked before we ride: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40541446

Inspired by my new nickname, we will start from Whole Foods Market (near Diridon station), and journey for spectacular sights. This ride is for those who do not wish to travel far or fast. Will this be your recovery ride or main event? As usual, if you bring your "sorrisi" (smiles) and "racconti" (stories), we will stop for "spuntini" (snacks). I can adjust my speed to accommodate slower riders. Please bring your liquids and tools for any unfortunate events, and check the e-list for any last minute updates.
