2 Or More Trails
Meet at 9:45 am for 10:00 departure at the Congregational Church, (west parking lot on Leigh at Hamilton). We'll make our way to the San Tomas Aquino Trail, connect to the Bay and Adobe Creek Trails (great shorebird viewing), and return via the Stevens Creek Trail. This route has about 7 miles of dirt that is absolutely suitable for road bikes with 25s. Parts are a bit bumpy, but very ridable and not necessarily worse than some pavement around. Refresh and refuel at the Pruneyard (<1 mile from the start) after. Note that e-bikes are technically and stupidly prohibited in PA Baylands, but I'll be riding mine. As are all my rides, no one left behind. 04-05-2026 10:00:00 04-05-2026 12:00:00 6 ACTC: Monday Mixed Terrain- Palo Alto Baylands 46 mi, 1 LM , 449 ft: Meet at 9:45 am for 10:00 departure at the Congregational Church, (west parking lot on Leigh at Hamilton). Henry Coe,Thomas Grade
Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow, and we’re treating this ride like the pre party fiesta—the part where everyone’s still hydrated, still upright, and still pretending they won’t be inhaling guacamole by the bowlful in 24 hours. Thomas Grade — the warm up salsa • Henry Coe — the habanero leg roaster. We’ll regroup at the tops and pretend we’re not already thinking about tomorrow’s tacos. Your leadership duo: • Jamey — steady on the flats, easily persuaded into bonus climbs•Rosemary — the calm, competent copilot ensuring no one ends up celebrating Cinco de Mayo in Gilroy. Expect smooth pavement and the kind of elevation profile that pairs beautifully with tomorrow’s celebratory calories. And yes — if someone whispers “Cinco goat” with the right amount of enthusiasm, I might suddenly remember a climb I “forgot” to list. Come earn your tacos, churros, and questionable beverage choices a day early. 04-05-2026 10:00:00 04-05-2026 12:00:00 6 ACTC: Guac & Roll:Cinco Eve Salsa Spin 27 mi, 5 M , 3438 ft: Cinco de Mayo is tomorrow, and we’re treating this ride like the pre party fiesta—the part where everyone’s still hydrated, still upright, and still pretending they won’t be inhaling guacamole by the bowlful in 24 hours. There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line" - Oscar Levant. Meet at the Marina Green at 9:45, near St. Francis Yacht Club, San Francisco. Once again, Minh is training so she can escape from Alcatraz on this annual event. On Sunday, June 7th, Minh is scheduled to be riding in Team CAF (The Challenged Athlete Foundation) Relay where she will be awaiting for her fellow amputee (leg) swimmer Lisa in the transition area at 7:00 AM to retrieve the ankle timing chip to put on her ankle before rolling out from the bike racks at Marina Green (they are convicts, she escaped once before, last year!). Her one-arm runner Troy will take over once Minh completes her hilly ride. We plan to have lunch in SF and may opt to add Conzelman goat too.

Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park along Altia Ave. Sorry, I had to switch my DRT Ride to Sunday. I feel bad doing this on Mother's Day, but this momma needs to keep up her fitness. Jennifer is the only one of my children who celebrates M.D., and she will be enjoying the day with me. This ride has all the climbing and approximately the miles you will do in the Death Ride. There is ample daylight now for even a slow cyclist. Jennifer will lead the faster cyclists, while I am usually last. This ride has many "bailout" options, especially at the end of the ride. So you can push yourself to your limit and then limp back to the car. Go at your own pace and shorten the ride as needed. Sunset will be at 8:04 pm with Civil Twilight lasting until 8:32 pm. So you have a 13-hour window to get this ride done! 10-05-2026 07:30:00 10-05-2026 09:30:00 6 ACTC: Death Ride Training 94 mi, 6 LM , 14,000 ft: Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park along Altia Ave. Sorry, I had to switch my DRT Ride to Sunday. Meet William Mueller at Mckenzie Park tennis courts for a 9:45 am sign-in, 10:00 launch. Expect a social ride at a fairly leisurely pace, with 20 minute stops at each studio. No lunch stop, so bring snacks. You might also want to bring a string bag to carry away treasures.

After an easy warm-up up the paved part of Alpine (little traffic), we'll climb Dirt Alpine to Page Mill and cross into Montebello. Then its off to tackle Sunny Jim (tough) and Russian Ridge. A bit more road riding will get us to Windy Hill for a fun fire road descent and then a bit of single track back to the start. There are a few porta-potties but no water, so be fully self supporting. There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line" - Oscar Levant. Meet at the Marina Green at 8:45, near St.

Alviso Slough Trail
Meet in the west church parking lot, corner of E. Hamilton Ave on Leigh Ave, San Jose. We will ride up the San Tomas Aquino Creek trail, do a loop on the levees and return via the Gaudalupe River Trail. About 9 miles of this ride are on hard-packed dirt but easily ridden on standard road bikes. The first mile of that section is usually the worst, so an early turnaround is an option if it's too rough or muddy. Shorebird sightings, salt pond views and the ghost town of Drawbridge are typically impressive. Regroups as necessary and as always, no one left behind. Optional food and drink at the Pruneyard less than a mile from the start. 18-05-2026 10:00:00 18-05-2026 12:00:00 6 ACTC: Mixed Terrain - Alviso Levees 38 mi, 1 LM , 414 ft: Meet in the west church parking lot, corner of E. TrailRoller - Pre-Ice Cream Warm-Up
10:00 AM
30 mi, 1 MB, 223 ft
Mountain Goat
Various
This is a pre-Ice Cream Social mountain bike ride with an ear-popping 223 feet of ascent! We'll start from the location of the Social (street parking only, see listing), so there won't be any reason not to attend and represent the "dirty" members of the club. This is mixed-terrain but stays off of higher-traffic roads as much as possible. We'll visit Alviso Slough and Mallard Slough trails to experience a flat-land event. Expect to ride at a much faster pace than normal since it is flat. There are rocks, potholes and gravel, making the ride more difficult for the skinny tired set but we should be able to roar through on knobbies. Two re-group locations (4 stops) included but plan to be self-sufficient and keep pace. We leave at 10:00 sharp, so be there and have your bike ready. Let's ride hard and enjoy some ice cream! 23-05-2026 10:00:00 23-05-2026 12:00:00 6 ACTC: TrailRoller - Pre-Ice Cream Warm-Up 30 mi, 1 MB , 223 ft: This is a pre-Ice Cream Social mountain bike ride with an ear-popping 223 feet of ascent!
