9:00 AM 45 mi, 3 M
Grizzly Bear Nope, just a nice ride
It's time again for an Angel Island ride. Take the visitor's turn off (to the right) just before the Golden Gate Bridge toll plaza and sweep right till you reach Lincoln Ave (dead end), make a left and go about 100 ft. Turn left into the dirt parking lot (no meters). We will roll across the bridge, down through Sausalito, out the bike path and on to Tiburon. Bring money for the ferry to Angles Island ($7.00, I think). To arrive in Tiburon in time to get tickets before the ferry leaves, the ride will roll at 9:00 at a 'M' (14 - 16 miles/hour on the flats is good enough) pace. After circling the island, there will be 20 to 30 minutes for a hot dog before catching the ferry back (or, we can eat at the bakery in Tiburon). On the way back, we will do the Paradise Loop and take Bunker through the tunnel to return up and over McCullough. Riders are welcome to go at their own pace (ride sheets provided), but the main body will roll at a moderate pace. Helmets required, ride rolls at 9:00. Wet pavement cancels.
