*** IMPROMPTU RIDE FOR STATS CREDIT *** Here's a little ride that's short on miles but long on feet. Sweet little Ramona is more steep than sweet. Her neighbor, Los Trancos, brings an interesting meander through a wooded development of a bygone era. Alpine East remains a pleasant creekside escape, and Westridge has to be ridden both directions to take in houses with garages bigger than many homes. Drive to the start/finish at the Windy Hill Preserve parking lot from San Jose via 280 north. Exit onto Alpine Road; go west to Portola Road, turn right, drive about one mile to the Preserve on the left.
